BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT DIRECTOR
Graduated at University with a BA Degree in Hospitality Business Management,
I was fortunate enough to have already gained experience as always worked even part-time after school & during Uni years. My passion has always been in working with people. I helped run one of Glasgow’s most popular “football bars” (back in its day!), and tapped into some part-time modelling, fashion shows, PR, TV adverts & Extra work, along the way to pay University fees! And then straight after graduating moved straight into a Trainee Management role with a Corporate Hotel Group.
Next was a BDM role for a large Taxi org. Then advanced onto being a Sales Manager – for the Worlds Largest Outside Advertising Co. Then finally, just prior to starting at Mamba I was a Scotland Account Manager – for a Global Logistics Company.
Very flattered to have worked with & represented some massive household names, and gained a vast amount of experience, especially in the face-to-face side of things, but I realised over time it was going to be….just me, my laptop, Bmw company car, & meeting new clients… But, I realised something was missing….I was missing a passion, now with Mamba I’m so grateful that daily I’m doing something I actually truly enjoy.
I am dealing with such a diverse range of individuals from all backgrounds on a daily basis which makes this the perfect career for me; I am in a constantly challenging, extremely bustling, energetic & vibrant atmosphere!
So joining Mamba way back in April 2005 made perfect sense to me to allow me to utilise such past experience so I could push on with what really drives me… company growth & expansion as well as profitability. Realising that my earnings have grown as the company has laid solid foundations in its infancy, and now years on, the company is in a really comfortable position to rapidly expand & open up further offices.
As part of the overall group I was fortunate enough to be one of a few hand-picked out of many Marketing Companies to win in 2007 a “Recruitment Award” (out of UK & Europe offices); and then in the next year of 2008 an “Administration & Recruitment” award (regional). In December 2009 I won another award: Excellence in Administration & Recruitment, as well as receiving a stunning Tiffany Braclet as a gift. I do believe that’s a hat-trick of award wins now! Yass!
Not only have the business & self development rewards been endless, and although hectic I can always manage to work around my family life too. The travel opportunities have just got better & better each year, as and when required I attend meetings & conferences to various UK destinations, annually I attend our Global Group 4 day conference, always held in luxury 5 star accommodation/resorts, and on which I have always taken my child too, so far every year the conference has been in a different European destination, from Spain, Portugal, Greece, Cyprus and Tenerife.
Mamba also every year runs its own internal Rest & Restoration weekend which over the last 2 years I have managed to attend as well, which is the crème-de-la-crème staying in a luxury villa in plush Marbella - Spain for a long weekend visit.
For a yearly period I have been fortunate enough to work closely alongside one of the Group Vice Presidents - I organised all the events for him, they ranged in size from 200 to over 1000 delegates in attendance, they ranged in venue from Hampden Stadium, Hilton Hotels to large venues like the Liverpool Conference Centre. I loved every minute of this role and developed at work as well as personally, learning new organisational tactics, working alongside events management companies, DJ’s, sound & light companies, as well as conducting huge PowerPoint presentations, I particularly learnt allot when sourcing, arranging & booking - with great attention to detail - the likes of the “Call on Me” dancers - from the Erik Price Number 1 hit, all the way through to the likes of Jamie Archer - from X-Factor! To be a part of such events & experience everyones enjoyment is just the best feeling ever!
QUITE SIMPLY - LOVING IT!
