Liam MacPhail

Before I started in Entice (part of the Mamba Organisation) I had been trying various jobs, but things were just not really amounting to much for me… I left school in Stornoway, Western Isles, with little more than standard grades & the plan was to go to college to study engineering, that plan failed, then I went into mechanics which I did really enjoy but due to credit crunch lost that job after just a year, I then decided to apply for a job with Strathclyde police to finish the apprenticeship, I moved to Glasgow during the police vetting procedure and decided to apply to Mamba Org to earn myself some money.
After starting here I quickly realised the opportunity in front of me - which made passing up the police so much easier - what actually kept me in the business was the vibrant environment, and the money to be made, and realising that the business is recession proof - whilst other companies were closing - Mamba was growing & actually opening new premises!! When I first stepped into the office the memorable things that really struck me was the really bubbly office management staff, and the fantastic décor, it made me feel allot more at ease, my first interview was with Barry and my first impression was this sounds amazing, my second interview I met with a guy called Jonathan who I got on with right away who showed me how easy the business was, and then my final interview was with Jason who explained more about the progression and I thought… I really want this… so of course when I was offered the opportunity I wanted to commit to a start date straight away!
Since I’ve started in the company I’ve become consistent at sales, I have also started building a good solid team and learning all there is to know about helping to coach & manage others. I have travelled all over the UK to places like Perth, Dundee, Newcastle, Nottingham, Bristol, London, Manchester and many more, I’ve also won some awards and prizes like a sales award, I won an in-house competition, and have thoroughly enjoyed extravagant days out to places like Loch Lomond – Cameron House Yacht trip with several colleagues.
My main goal for the future is to reach the next promotion level and build a larger sales team to work with, although I am certainly one of the youngest members - this place has given me the drive, determination and want - to realise that it doesn’t matter how old I am as long as I continue to listen & work closely with management then I will keep getting better. I know that all of my personal goals which I have set - will be realised with 100% certainty - and I aim to achieve them in a fairly short space of time, the self development and the business progression that can be achieved is incredible, wish I had found it sooner!
